Included: a jersey that must be worn throughout the race, race number, gifts, refreshments along the route, medical assistance, showers, Italian pasta party; recovery service in the event of dropping out.
PARTICIPATION: The event is open to all Cycling amateurs of both sexes from the age of 17 to 65 years old, who are fully paid up members of a National and/or International Association for the current year.
Those who do not hold a current racing license can enrol with a declaration (by a specialised doctor) which testifies they have been examined and declared fit for competitive sport.
Competitors of the ‘red list’ (professional, ex-professionals, élite) are not admitted.
On signing the entry form all participants declare that they :
Are in good physical condition and
Possess a membership card issued by the cycling organisation to which they belong. If this document doesn’t imply they have passed a physical examination, the subscribers must also possess a declaration (by a specialised doctor) which testifies they have been examined and declared fit for competitive sport.
Have read and accepted the regulations of The Fausto Coppi (the Italian Regulation governing the race)
Are in possession - will buy - will rent - a BlueChip (art. 11 - 11b - 17 of the Italian regulations)
CHECKS and ISSUE OF RACE NUMBERS
Checking of licenses and membership cards, issue of race numbers and additional items will take place in
Cuneo, Piazza Galimberti:
Saturday 03/07/10 from 10.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.
Sunday 04/07/10 (day of the competition) from 5.30 to 6.20 a.m.
Those who don’t have their racing license checked will be disqualified.
There will be a check of electronic chips at the start and additional checks during the route; the places in which these checks will be carried out may not be indicated on the route map and do not necessarily have to be notified to the participants beforehand.
MEETING POINT AND START: Cuneo - Piazza Galimberti. Sunday 04/07/10 – 6.30 am for checking of electronic chips of the competitors.
START: 7.00 a.m.
FINISH: Cuneo – Piazza Galimberti – within 12 hours from the starting time; anyone arriving after this time will not be classified.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Survival blanket and hard helmet are compulsory: every competitor is obliged to wear a helmet during the whole race. Infringement of this security requirement will lead to immediate disqualification of the competitor.
REFRESHMENTS: Several feeding stations are located along the route, according to the race dieticians.
Areas of about a kilometre in length will be designated in which the cyclists can throw away their drinking bottles, papers and anything else used for refreshments: anybody found littering outside this area will be disqualified.
RECOVERY TRUCK: Special buses and trucks will be at hand for recovery of participants and their bicycles of anyone who abandons.
