Fauniera Classic

A NEW, NON-COMPETITIVE PATH ON THE ICONIC ROAD OF THE GRANFONDO!

The 35th edition of the La Fausto Coppi International Granfondo, June 30, 2024, offers a third non-competitive path (101 km and 2,187 meters of elevation gain) alongside the two traditional ones: the Mediofondo and the Granfondo.

Those who will choose the Fauniera Classic route (without ranking, but with timekeeping and final ranking in alphabetical order), after the descent in the Arma valley to Demonte, will ride the so-called “military route,” on the orographic right of the Stura river, to Borgo San Dalmazzo. Here the riders will rejoin the Mediofondo route to the finish in Piazza Galimberti, Cuneo.

FAUNIERA CLASSIC

NON-COMPETITIVE PATH, 101KM FOR 2,187M ELEVATION GAIN

The non-competitive Fauniera Classic path is a tribute to the iconic road of the race: the Fauniera Pass. A new option for those who love cycling and do not want to miss the pleasure of admiring an extraordinary landscape, without having to deal with the chronometer.

Starting from Cuneo, at the outlet of the Soleri bridge, we head left, toward Caraglio and the Grana Valley. After about 20 km from the start, the climb begins. Passing through Valgrana and Pradleves, you arrive at the Sanctuary of Castelmagno. And then up again, to Colle Fauniera (2,481m). From the summit you can admire the majestic spectacle of the Cottian Alps. From here, a technical descent begins, to be done carefully and without haste. At Demonte take the “military route” to Borgo San Dalmazzo, then the return on Cuneo, to Piazza Galimberti.
